Festivalil "Balta Nakts" Riias 2009. Abistasid: tundmatud läti mehed. Festival "Balta Nakts", Riga (Latvia) 2009. Assisted by: unknown Latvian men.
I was going to an art festival to Riga with a grip´s hat, an ax and a chopping block in my luggage. It was the hardest period of the recession and times when people were talking about devaluation of Latvian lats. I went to the local market for to find some people who would agree to assist my performance and found there some men who agreed to follow me and carry the chopping block on the streets for 5 lats and a bottle of vodka. We headed to the busstation where I took out 45 lats from an ATM and chopped it into little pieces. After I had left, the men very carefully picked up all the pieces of money from the street, probably they hoped to replace them in a bank. Latvian lat however maintained its strong rate, it was not devaluated. But on the contrary, Estonian crown has become a part of history.
